Postdoc Scholar Position – Synthetic polymer chemist
May 2020
Post-doctoral scholar positions are available in the Chung’s group.
The project aims to design, synthesize, and characterize multi-functional biomedical adhesives through the fundamental understanding of structure-property relationships in bottlebrush polymers. The most important part of the project is organic synthesis of new monomers and following polymerization to prepare sophisticated and well-defined polymers.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, polymer science or a related field, and demonstrated experience in organic and/or polymer chemistry (monomer synthesis and polymerization). The candidate must be able to conduct multi-step organic synthesis with strong organic chemistry background. Familiarity with polymer physics, polymer characterization (SEC, NMR, FTIR, UV-Vis, tensile testing, rheology, etc.) and organometallic chemistry is desirable but not an essential requirement.
Further inquiries and application materials (full CV, a list of publications, and a list of references) should be sent electronically to Professor Hoyong Chung, hchung@eng.famu.fsu.edu.
